You get out of the shower. You’ve spent so long in there that you can’t do your hair. Pathetic. You swiftly go over to your desk and [[grab your bag]].

You make your way to the desk. Nabbing the purse, you quickly check if everything is in there. It looks fine. You close your purse ... but ... It wouldn't hurt to [[check again]]

You struggle to fit your hair into a ponytail. After thirty minutes of scrunchies popping, you give up and leave it the way it is. Pathetic. You wasted so much time that you can’t even take a shower. The pendant is beautiful. The gem in the center is the same color as abuelita's eyes. It's all you have left of her. "Okay okay. Everything is fine." Before heading downstairs, the mirror catches your eye and you [[take a look]] at your self.

“I’m not hungry” Your mother looks worried at you as you brush past her through the door. You ignore her stares and grab your coat on the way [[out]].

You walk past your mother. ~~A twinge of guilt pierces your heart as you see her face.~~ You don’t have the energy to talk to her right now. You grab your coat on the way [[out]].

You take the same route to the train stop as you do every day. It’s cold. You wish you had some company to help past the time. Until recently you always had- "It doesn’t matter anymore" The train arrives, and you escape the cold wind in exchange for stale air. It smells of cigarettes and body odor. At work- A very drab and bleak shop. Almost empty. There is a clock on the wall.You make it just in time. You look around and the shop is basically empty. Time slowly drones on as it seems like the clock is torturing you with its antagonizing slow movements. In the middle of your shift you get a message from your mom. You should [[ignore it]] since your working but it's not that busy, you could [[read it]].

"I'm okay, I just want to be alone right now." Mom sounds relieved when she says "okay, if you need me for anything, I'll be downstairs." and she quitely walks back down leaving you alone with your [[thoughts]]

You say nothing back. Your mother sighs with worry and says "I am here for you." and heads back downstairs, leaving you alone with your [[thoughts]].

It starts getting dark. Maybe you should do something… like get [[out of bed]] or [[eat dinner]].

“Next time be more aware of your surroundings.” She chuckles and it makes you hate her a little more* “Oh my, what a mouth you have.” “Why you’re so bony! We need to fill you up. Care for a cookie?” [[Yes]] [[No]]

Your mouth fills with sweet soft cookies and you are reminded of days where you were [[happier]].

You decline, but the smell of cookies brings up a few nostalgic [[memories]] that make you tear up a little.

You end up staying way longer than you thought you would, but you realize that you don’t mind. You haven’t felt this awake in a long time* “You seem disoriented. Here’s my number, I know a thing or two about being lost. If you need any advice, you can call me at any time. I’m old so I could use the company.” [[You take the paper]]

As time went on, you and Señora Leticia grew closer. She became someone that guided you when you were lost and lifted you up when your mother couldn’t You fill in the void that was once a person with new experiences. As each day goes by, you stray further and further from the husk you once were. You found Hope. [[Credits]]
